About Murphy Robinson
From Law Enforcement to Leading Innovation in Public Safety Tech
Murphy Robinson is a security technology entrepreneur and senior public safety executive known for leading complex organizations and building solutions to some of the most challenging operational problems in government and security. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of SurePass, a Colorado-based security technology company developing the nation’s first platform dedicated to verifying the authority of official-capacity credentials in real time. The platform is designed to help police departments, venues, and critical infrastructure operators confidently verify authority at checkpoints, during events, and across high-security environments.
Prior to founding SurePass, Robinson launched Seca Secure, a physical security and low-voltage integration firm. Under his leadership, the company scaled rapidly, reaching multimillion-dollar revenue within its first two years while delivering security infrastructure and technology solutions for corporate and institutional clients. His work in entrepreneurship and leadership has been recognized by organizations, including Titan CEO and the Denver Business Journal.
Before entering the private sector, Robinson served in senior leadership roles within the City and County of Denver, including Deputy Mayor, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director of Public Safety. In these roles, he oversaw complex municipal operations, leading an organization of more than 15,000 employees and helping manage over $2 billion in public budgets. His portfolio included police, fire, emergency management, and critical public safety systems for one of the nation’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas.
Throughout his career, Robinson has led through periods of significant challenge and transformation—ranging from responding to civil unrest and coordinating citywide public safety operations to helping manage public health infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
